Essar Energy Transition (EET) was set up with the mission of bringing cleaner energy to the communities we serve.
About Essar Energy Transition (EET)
Building a sustainable channel for clean energy
EET is redefining investment in energy by focussing on hydrogen, decarbonisation, new energy infrastructure and biofuels, creating a fully integrated energy transition hub at Stanlow, United Kingdom. This hub is poised to become one of the largest Energy Transition Hubs in Europe. Further, EET’s infrastructure, expertise and large land bank (c.900 acres) at Stanlow will facilitate development of new ‘green’ production facilities.
EET’s portfolio includes Fuels, Hydrogen, Infrastructure and Biofuels, which presently include operating entities such as Vertex, EET Future Energy, Essar Oil UK and Stanlow Terminals Ltd.
Uniquely placed, Stanlow can deliver strategic UK energy security. EET will be a leading energy transition hub with a diversified pool of new energy sources such as 2.1 GW hydrogen (1 GW blue hydrogen, 1.1 green ammonia/hydrogen) and 1MTPA biofuels capacity. Use of hydrogen and carbon capture will transform Stanlow into a leading decarbonised refinery globally. By transforming Stanlow Terminals, UK’s largest independent bulk liquid storage terminal, into UK’s largest biostorage and future fuels storage facility, we will enable the assets to further provide low-cost, low-carbon fuels to a highly motivated industrial customer base.
Project Updates and Timelines
EET’s aim is to build an integrated energy transition hub that would enable an industry transformation towards green fuels. Over the next few years, world-class green infrastructure will come up at our Stanlow facility, which will not just support the UK’s push towards Blue Hydrogen, but also create an ecosystem that would lead clean energy transition in the region.
